Whales exist.

Whales totally exist. It almost seems crazy to even feel the need to defend their existance... Almost. Look, below this text is even a drawing of several. Even a rare drawing of the elephant whale at the bottom.

It seems there are people out there who are in denial over the mere existance of these beautiful and graceful creatures. It is an insult to the their very real intelligence to even suggest that they are figments of the imagination or a part of some government conspiracy.

What is up with ilaugh?

First i see the "ilaugh" posters around the city. Then i see they have actually hit the street gorilla style with spray painted stencils. Now don't get me wrong, i am a fan of art in the street, but spray painted advertising for a comedy website?

Yes, it turns out that ilaugh is advertising for ilaugh.com which is a comedy website. It boasts to be "the world's funniest website" but if you do check it out, it does have its problems. i think that the funniest websites are going to be the websites built by regular folks not trying to be funny.

Who knows, maybe if they get their "shit" together and enough funny people send in their "shit" it could have what it takes. Right now though, YouTube and Myspace Comedy have the jump on internet comedy. But ilaugh has spray paint, and they are not afraid to us it.

It is hard.

It is hard for kids today.

What I mean is, it is hard for every generation of kids to grow up and then rebel against what the generation before them did. It is hardest, and shows up the most in one facet of the world... of course I am talking about Fashion.

How can kids keep looking cool and at the same time not just wearing what has already been done. Yes, it is true that retro is in (again). But I mean, how does the youth keep coming up with the new hip trend. One that all the kids can agree is "cool" and all the old folks will think looks ridiculous.

It is hard.

Saw the show last night...

I went and saw the Scott Thompson show last night at the West Ene Cultural Centre. The show was called "Scottastrophe" which could be read as Scott-as-trophe. The show was really nice and good. It had Bob Wiseman as the musical guest and he opened the show with some nice songs and nice videos. When they continue the tour, you should really check it out.

p.s. the first picture is Scott Thompson, the second picture is Bob Wiseman.

A Fake Essay

An essay on CRUMBS

'Brilliant', 'Quite Good', 'What?', these are just some of the comments made recently in the press regarding crumbs. I really, really like crumbs. Given that its influence pervades our society, several of todays most brilliant minds seem incapable of recognising its increasing relevance to understanding future generations. It is estimated that that crumbs is thought about eight times every day by global commercial enterprises, who form the last great hope for our civilzation. Relax, sit back and gasp as I display the rich tapestries of crumbs.

Social Factors

Society is a human product. Upon Peter Pinkleton-PishPosh's return to Britain he remarked 'class will refelect the inner hero' [1], he failed to understand that if one seriously intends to 'not judge a book by its cover', then one must read a lot of books. More a melody to societies dysfunctions than a parody of the self, crumbs raises the question 'why?'

Of paramount importance to any study of crumbs within its context, is understanding the ideals of society. It is intrinsically linked to adolescent inner acclimatisation.

Economic Factors

Economics has been defined as 'I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine.' To my learned ear that sounds like two people with itchy backs. We will primarily be focusing on the Inter-Spam model, a lovely model.

What a splendid graph. Recent studies indicate that the market value of gold plays in increasingly important role in the market economy. Assumptions made by traders have caused uncertainty amongst the private sector.

Political Factors

Politics was once a game featuring competitors from elite classes. Comparing the electoral politics of most Western and Eastern European countries is like comparing pre and post war views of crumbs.

Take a moment to consider the words of one of the great political analysts Elijah Lionel Forbes Dickinson 'People in glass houses shouldn't through parties.' [2] This quotation leads me to suspect that he was not unaccustomed to crumbs. It speaks volumes. It would be wise to approach the subject with the thought that 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'. However this can lead to missing out important facts.
Is crumbs politically correct, in every sense? Each man, woman and to a lesser extent, child, must make up their own mind.

Conclusion

To conclude, crumbs is, to use the language of the streets 'Super Cool.' It enriches, 'literally' plants seeds for harvest, and always chips in.

As a parting shot here are the words of super-star Mariah Zeta-Jones 'You win some, you loose some, but crumbs wins most often.' [3]

NINE YEARS...

Seriously though, you really do need to come and check this show out.

CRUMBS are in this season!

So here we are back in town and getting ready for a whole season of fun times (and making rent). We had a fabulous spring and summer of touring and shows that brought us to Edmonton for the Fringe there for the first time in 3 or 4 years, as well it had us touring Europe yet again (tour number 6).

But here we are in Winnipeg, it is autumn and we look into winter and wonder what the hell are we gonna do?

First up, we have the Cage Match Winnipeg. This is going on at the King's Head Pub and when we were first asked to do it, we flip flopped and jim jammed. After some more thought we decided to give it a shot. We showed up on Oct 10th and rocked the joint. We were up against Merry's Men and Outside Joke (both are improv heavy hitters in the Peg scene). We were very lucky because there was this asshole heckler who made out job very easy. Needless to say, we did end up getting the audience votes and won the evening. We return Nov 14th to defend our loosley held title.

Second up, we have the CRUMBS ninth birthday anniversay challenge of a show. We hare celebrating with an audience at the Gas Station Theatre on Saturday, October 28th. There will be two shows. The early show is at 8pm and will feature the lovely DJ HUNNICUTT on the turntables making the sound for the freestyle comedy. The late show will be at 10pm and will feature some lovely guests. The shows are $8 each or $12 if you just simply cannot miss either of them.
